Smith & Watts Print is proud to have achieved the prestigious FSC certification,
allowing our customers to use the FSC logo on anything we print on FSC certified paper.
Of course paper is just part of the story, at Smith & Watts Print we are committed to
continually reducing the impact that we have on our environment.
Measures include:
Inks
All standard four colour inks at Smith & Watts Print are produced from vegetable based oils,
reducing the impact on mineral oil supplies and making for better recyclability.
Chemicals
Our state of the art Heidelberg presses require significantly less usage of
isopropyl-alcohol in the dampening system.
Our digital CTP workflow now utilises a 'low-chemistry' developer and
our ultimate goal is to use processless plates when costs allow.
Machine Coaters
All major presses are equipped with machine coating units allowing for water-based
coatings to be applied as standard, thereby eliminating the usage of oil based sealers
and reducing the need for laminations.
Waste Disposal
Smith & Watts Print currently recycle the following process-based waste streams,
all through certified and approved waste contractors:
